This beautiful, quiet, shy girl came in for her senior model interview last spring and I could tell from our chat that she'd be a committed, fun to work with teen for the model team and I was right! It was so fun to watch this beauty literally blossom in front of the camera as she gained confidence. When chatting with her about her senior shoot and year on the team here's what she's got to say.

Jenn: Where did you choose to do your senior model shoot?

Abby: I chose several separate locations in the Sacramento area. The California State Fair, Old Town Sacramento and a 50's cafe.

Jenn: What inspired you to chose your location?

Abby: I chose the state fair becuase I felt like ti was something different and I hadn't seen anyone else do that before.  I loved the bright colors and fun options all the locations offered.

Jenn: Where did you purchase your clothes for your shoot?

Abby:I got most of them at stores here in town, TJ Maxx and Kohl's, but a few at the mall in Modesto.

Jenn: What was your favorite memory from your shoot day?

Abby: I loved traveling out of town and exploring locations I had never been.

Jenn: What advice would you give to the class of 2021?

Abby: Be Confident! And when doing your senior shoot always plan ahead to have backup outfits.

Jenn: Thinking back to this senior year BEFORE Covid19 hit what is your favorite memory?

Abby: I just loved being able to experience all these last and final things with my friends and creating great memories.

Jenn: What are you most grateful for today?

Abby: For my family and friends and of course being healthy during this crazy time.

Jenn: Who is your favorite Disney character?

Abby: Piglet!

Jenn: What are you currently watching during quarantine?

Abby: Lots of Netflix and Hulu

Jenn: When this quarantine is over and we are released to life as normal what is the first thing you're going to do?

Abby: Spend time with my friends and Go Shopping!

Meet Mandy Teem! Sonora High School Class of 2020 senior. I've loved having Mandy on my model team this and we've had some fun photo shoots together! Here's Mandy's interview answers from our chat this week. Mandy's hair and makeup for her senior shoot was by Beauty By Kelsey Lane.

Jenn: Mandy, where did you do your senior shoot at?

Mandy: I did my senior shoot at Apple Hill in Placerville, CA

Jenn: Why did you choose Apple Hill as your location?

Mandy: I chose this location because it just had a nice nature vibe to it and i love everything about fall so that location was perfect as there were all kinds of different pumpkins. also, Jen shared this post of these DELICIOUS donuts there and we had to try them!!

Jenn: Where did you purchase your outfits for your shoot?

Mandy:  Most of the clothes I purchased for the shoot were from Addictions but the prom dress i took photos in we’re from the Bridal Loft????

Jenn: What is your favorite memory of your senior shoot day?

Mandy: My favorite memory was probably the donuts. they were so good. it was also nice to spend the whole day with my mom as i don’t get to spend as much time with her due to sports and school.

What advice would you give to the Class of 2021?

Mandy: A piece of advice I would give to C/O 21 is make the most of this year. it may be your last year with all your close friends and after that, your life is going to change.

Jenn: Thinking back over this year BEFORE Covid19 hit what is our favorite memory or event?

Mandy: I have two favorite memories and they’re both soccer related. my first favorite memory is when i scores my second goal of the season. as a defensive midfielder i don’t have that much of an opportunity to score. this moment was just so amazing as it just happened so quickly. my second favorite memory was when i got my red card in my last high school play off game. it was my first ever in soccer and it was kind of funny seeing my mom’s reaction after the game.

Jenn:At this moment in time what are you most grateful for?

Mandy:I am very grateful for family right now. some people don’t have that close bond with their family that being able to stand my family in the quarantine has been nice and we’ve done some fun things during this time.

Jenn: What's your favorite Disney treat?

Mandy: Omg i haven’t been to Disneyland since i was a freshman so probably a churro cause churros are good ????

Jenn: Who's your Favorite Disney character?

Mandy: My favorite disney character to this day is still  Tinkerbell. i have loved her ever since i was like 2 years old and i used to tell my mom that i would work at disneyland and fly across the castle during the fireworks show.

Jenn: What are you currently watching to occupy your time during quarantine?

Mandy: During this quarantine i have been hiking a lot... i know we’re not supposed to be outside but technically it’s really been a way to socially distance myself from all the people in town.

Jenn: When this pandemic is over and we're "released" to normal life, what's the first thing you're going to do?

Mandy: The first thing I’m going to do is probably go swimming because it’ll be summer by then... hopefully not but i think i’ll get a big group of friends together and just have a good time because i miss all my friends and i hope they’re all doing well.

Thanks Mandy for being a part of the 2020 team this year! I've loved getting to know and I love photographing you!

It's a beautiful fall morning here in Anaheim and I've just complteted a magical Disneyland Destination photo shoot with alumni model Skylar! Skylar and I have been planning this adventure for several weeks and it's so exciting for me when all the details come together. Her gorgeous rose gold princess dress was found online at Vici Dolls www.vicicollection.com. Paired with her rose gold ears it was the perfect ensemble for the Fantasyland portion of her magical day!

I asked Skylar this morning what bit of advice would she give to clients who are embarking on a Disney Destnination Shoot. Here's her top 4 suggestions;

1. Wear very good comfortable shoes for walking around the parks! You can switch out your comfy shoes for your style shoes and still save your feet.

2. Pack Light! For example, chose pants that you can wear with several different outfits. You don't want to bring 3 different pairs of jeans. It gets too heavy and bulky to carry.

3. Invest in a locker for the day! It's only $10 for the biggest size and you can put your stuff in it and go back when needed instead of carrying it all day.

4. Bring bottled water and snacks! We go from location to location quickly to advoid the crowds and to capture the best lighting. There's not time to stop to grab water and food. No one wants a hangry model!

Here are my top favorites from Fantasyland friends. More photos from other lands coming soon!

Hey Summerville Class of 2020...did you know it's time to get your senior shoot done? Yep! Mr Suggs is going to want those gorgeous yearbook photos in just a few short weeks! And believe me you're not going to want your high school legacy photo to be a snap shot with a cell phone in bad light next to the typical tree. lol Make sure your senior yearbook photo is AMAZING and leaves your legacy as stylish and unforgettable!

Here's what my studio has to offer this year - Your senior photo shoot done here in Tuolumne or Calaveras county is only $135 for unlimited outfits and time. (I don't limit how much time I spend with you but it's normally 1.5 - 2 hours for the typical shoots.) PLUS, at the end of the school year the week before graduation you'll get invited to a FREE cap and gown mini shoot event and I GIFT to you the digital images from that mini shoot as my graduation gift to you!! I also offer destination shoots all over California including a special offer I'm doing this year for Disneyland senior shoots! (call me for details on that!)

Oh...and did you hear about my new program called "Senior Seasons"? It's a special series of 5 mini styled "season" shoots spread over the school year. The perfect event for Best Friend photos and those cute new outfits you're going to want to share photos of over on Instagram!

So, talk to your parents TONIGHT and make sure they're aware as well. I've got only 9 summer spots left on my calendar and only 4 for September! To set up your senior shoot planning appointment I'm best reached at 209-613-4476.
